SIGHTS
the highline is an amazing elevated park on the lower westside of manhattan. amazing views of the hudson and waterway.
central park is not to be missed. grab a cup of coffee and go explore or better yet a bike.
The MOMA and the new whitney are our favorite museums but really all the ny museums are pretty great.
Our favorite activity in the city is to jump on a bike and ride along the west or eastside waterfront. Citibike is everywhere and a great option.
Eataly is a cool experience but be warned that it's very busy on weekends. All the restaurants are soooo good.
EATS & TREATS
Any momofuku restaurant in the East Village is worth checking out. Our favorite is the noodle bar. Try to see at the bar over the kitchen.
Mary's fish camp in the West Village is a lovely, small spot for lunch or dinner. make sure you sit at the bar.
no trip to NY would be complete without a trip to Shake Shack. Go to any location but Madison Park - tourist magnet. Order a shack burger and a PB shake.
Check out La Colombe for a great cup of coffee.
brooklyn
SIGHTS
brooklyn museum. don't miss the Luce Visible Storage and Study Center on the 5th Floor. It's our favorite spot. the transit museum in brooklyn great if you're looking to learn some NY history. make sure you join a guided tour if you go as it makes the experience.
if you find yourself in williamsburg heading to the city. jump on the ny water taxi for a beautiful ride into Manhattan.
The brooklyn bridge park and the Brooklyn Heights Promenade are lovely walks with spectacular views of Manhattan. If it's a clear night walk across the brooklyn bridge at sunset.
brooklyn botanic gardens are lovely. if you enter before noon on saturdays admission is free!
EATS & TREATS
smorgasburg is not to missed on a saturday in williamsburg.
Char No. 4 in Cobble Hill has really good food and over 100 types of bourbon.
St. Mazie is a favorite bar in Williamsburg with amazing live music. The restaurant in the basement is a favorite too - St. Charles Cellar.
Cafe Mogador is our favorite brunch spot. Make sure you get an americano when there.
in the hood - Fort Green/Clinton Hill/Bed-Stuy
The fort greene flea is every saturday in Fort Greene and has great vendors and food.
Treat yourself to a Dough donut. Trust us - they're delicious and worth it.
Another great walk up breakfast - Scratchbread. We recommend the grits or a make-it-yourself egg sandwich with pesto.
you can find good coffee at Hungry Ghost, WTF Coffee Lab and Bittersweet.
If you're looking for good NY pizza. Check out Speedy Romeo.
The Mayflower is a lovely, small bar with good cocktails and is joined onto a lovely restaurant, Aita, as well.
If you find yourself exploring the neighborhood. Walk through the campus of Pratt, Art Institute. The on campus sculptures are beautiful. Enter at the corner of St. James Place and DeKalb Avenue.
